Biography
Shane Larsen
Prior to founding Western States Employment Law, P.C. Shane was a principal with the national employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. Now as the managing shareholder of Western States Employment Law, Shane’s practice comprises a broad spectrum of employment-related counseling, litigation, and workplace investigations.
While attending law school in the evening, and following graduation, Shane worked full time at a Washington D.C. employment law firm handling employment and whistleblower retaliation cases, including claims under the False Claims Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and Title VII.
Before pursuing a career in law, Shane was a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives for Idaho Congressman Michael K. Simpson, handling natural resources, agriculture, and related appropriations. Shane also served in the executive office of the president with the Office of Science and Technology Policy as a legal intern.
Shane’s litigation practice has covered employment matters such as retaliation, discrimination, hostile work environment, and wrongful termination.
His counseling practice includes advising employers regarding employment policies and practices on federal and state laws, severance agreements, leaves of absence and employment classifications. Shane also provides training for employers managers, and supervisors.
Because Shane has represented both employees and employers during his legal career, he is uniquely qualified as a workplace investigator to provide employers with a thorough, neutral assessment of workplace complaints.
Alongside Shane’s civilian legal career, Shane serves as a judge advocate in the US Army Reserve, providing legal representation and counseling for soldiers and commanders in the military.
